    The liver is found in the vertebrates that would automatically detoxify various metabolites and synthesizes proteins. These also mainly produce the biochemical that is mainly necessary for the growth and digestion of the food. The liver is located in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen. They play an important role in bodily functions from protein production, iron metabolism, and many more. When there is no proper functioning of the liver then it could be known with liver disease symptoms.

    What Causes Liver Disease?

    In the modern-day, more than 2 Million deaths occur per year worldwide due to the Liver disease and more than 1 Million of them are due to the complications of cirrhosis. About 1 Million of the death is caused by hepatitis as well as hepatocellular carcinoma. The liver disease could be a consequence of excessive alcohol consumption or genetic problems. There are also many numbers of disease and conditions that could affect the liver such as – 

    • Certain drugs like excessive amounts of acetaminophen
    • Acetaminophen combination medications
    • Statins
    • Cirrhosis
    • Alcohol abuse
    • Infectious mononucleosis (Epstein Barr virus)
    • Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E
    • Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NASH)
    • Iron overload (hemochromatosis)

    Symptoms Of Liver Diseases:

    Some people with liver disease don’t have symptoms until the disease gets to the advanced stage. While other sign start showing signs earlier. Some of the symptoms of liver disease include:

    • Loss Of Appetite
    • Nausea
    • Jaundice
    • Fatigue
    • Increased Thirst
    • Abdominal Discomfort
    • Weight Loss
    • Swelling In the Legs and Abdomen
    • Darkening or Lightening of the Skin

    When To See A Doctor?

    If you have the above persistent signs or liver disease symptoms then it is important to make an appointment with your doctor. Seek immediate medical attention when you have more abdominal pain. This would be suitable for reducing the symptoms.
